Bethan Hughes is the recipient of the third Artist Award 2017. Bethan will receive £1,000 and additional support from Axisweb at a pivotal point in her artistic career.

Bethan uses 3D visualisation software to create images, textures, animations and bodies which migrate from the digital to the physical as tactile objects and audio-visual environments.

Bethan's award will help in the setting up of a new nomadic artist-led project space, initially in Leeds, with a focus on supporting artists working with digital media and A/V technology.

As the recipient of the Axisweb Artist Award, Bethan commented:

Great news to hear that Poor Image Projects has been chosen to receive the third Axisweb Artist Award. I'm really looking forward to establishing it with the support of Axisweb in 2018. Thank you!
