My practice explores representation within Painting to test how it may contribute to ones understanding of reality. Working within the expanded field of Painting, through its pictorial and physical qualities, I investigate how observation and memory can be used to depict objects in relation to space, using the shadow as a bridge between their representational and physical being. The imagery in my work is derived from daily observations and recordings; the depiction of everyday objects, furnishings, and the shadows they cast.
