‘Interlocking silences’ consists of nine independent forms to create a complete interrelated work.
Drawings are developed from my notebooks, often changing an idea many times.
Altering lengths and proportions until the right balance or dynamic visual aesthetic is achieved. These hand drawn shapes form the patterns and basis for making the constructions.
The forms are constructed from soldered 1mm brass rod, making two flat shapes that rest against one another, to interlock and balance as free-standing forms.

Together these forms create spaces and implied gentle rhythmic movements that draw attention to the changes of natural light throughout the day.
